* OFFICIAL PLAY DAY - Wednesdays - starting times begin at 9:00 a.m..
* DUES - $60 - payable November 1st for the following year. Membership fee is
due by November 1st. After November 1st the fee will be $65.
After July 1st fee is $40 (Includes Handicap fee and Pub Links Membership)
* SIGN UP FOR PLAY - 2 weeks prior to play day. You can sign up on this web site
Sign up sheets are in the Pro Shop on our bulletin board. Indicate your preference
to walk or cart (W or C) when signing up.
* HANDICAP - Your monthly index card will be in the index card box by the bulletin
board and will indicate your current handicap index. This card shows the last 20
games you have played and the ten best scores used to establish your handicap index.
Scores used are marked by an "*".
* STARTING TIMES - Times are posted in the glass case in the breezeway, one week
prior to play. You can also check the website (sbwgc.com) for your tee time. If you
are not on the list or need to cancel, please contact one of the "Hostesses of the
Month". You can find the Hostess’ names on the top of the month's sign up sheet
or in the membership directory. All calls are to be directed to hostess up through
Tuesday before play. After Tuesday, the Pro Shop will accept cancel calls. In order
for Wednesday Play Day to go as smoothly as possible, the organization of the foursomes
is done by the Hostesses.
* GAME FOR THE DAY - Determined by the Tournament Chairman or the Hostess. The
Hostess determines the winners from signed and attested cards and turns the money
into the Pro Shop to be credited to each winner’s account. (A $4.00 play day fee
is collected on the first tee by the lowest handicapper of the foursome).
* POSTING - All scores must be posted on the computer for official play days as
well as any other time you play. If you finish any 13 holes, you must post, taking
net par for the holes not played. Please complete the score card by entering your
handicap; date it, sign it and have it attested. Deposit the card in the Women's
Club drawer which is located by the bulletin board. When playing at another course,
you should post an away game on their computer. If you are unable to do this, put
the card in the bottom drawer to the attention of the “Handicap Chairman” and it
will be posted for you. (Clearly mark card "Please post" or "not posted" etc.)
* CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - You must have played at least 10 Wednesday play day rounds
during the preceding 12 months to be eligible to compete in the championship tournament.
* SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS - These are listed in your Member Directory. Some require
a partner to play. Shotgun starts are scheduled three (3) times annually (February,
June, and November). Check-in at least 1/2 hour before starting time.
* RINGER - Over an 8 week period in February and March, during Wednesday play,
a record is kept of the best score, hole by hole, from any 6 of 8 rounds. Intent
to play in any ringer game must be declared on the #1 Tee. Entry fee for the Ringer
is $5.00. The Tournament is flighted.
* LOW NET/LOW PUTTS - Prize money is awarded monthly from the Treasury. The competition
is flighted. To compete, put your attested card in the proper envelope tacked
on the bulletin board and enter your name on the front of the envelope with your
net score or number of putts. In November, monthly winners compete in a play-off
to determine Low Net and Low Putt winners for the year.
* HOLE-IN-ONE - Is recognized with your name on our trophy and, if you have contributed
to the kitty, a generous share of the pot is yours.
* W.P.L.G.A. of So. Cal. - (Women's Pub Links Golf Association) Pub Links tournaments
take place at various courses throughout the area on the second Thursday of the month.
Look for the pink sheet posted on the bulletin board each month, alerting members
to play day, courses available and dates, etc. The locations of the tournaments as
well as entry blanks can also be found in the book received from Pub-Links when you
pay your dues.There are also yearly team play opportunities and exciting "Far-Away-
From-Home" tournaments, offered by this Association.
