Additional Info on the SBWGC



*   OFFICIAL PLAY DAY - Wednesdays - starting times begin at 9:00 a.m.


*   DUES - $75 - payable annually on your “renew” date; and/or upon your original Application Date to become a member of the SBWGC.

*   SIGN UP FOR PLAY - You can sign up on this web site  (www.sbwgc.com); idicate your preference for play from the RED or the RED/GREEN Tees, and whether you prefer to walk, ride or Walk (the front 9) or Ride the back 9  (W/R) when signing up.


 *   STARTING TIMES - Times are posted in the glass case in the breezeway, one week prior to play. You can also check the website (sbwgc.com) for your tee time. If you are not on the list, need to be added or cancel, please contact one of the "Hostesses”.  You can find the Hostess’ names under the Play Days tab on the home page of the web site.  All calls are to be directed to hostess up through Tuesday before play.  On the “day of play” contact the Pro Shop to accept cancel calls. In order for Wednesday Play Day to go as smoothly as possible, the organization of the foursomes is done by the Hostesses.


 *   GAME FOR THE DAY - Determined by the Tournament Chairman or the Hostess. The Hostess determines the winners from signed and attested cards and turns the money over to the Treasurer.  The Sweeps Chairperson will track all weekly play day winners.  Sweeps pay outs are don done twice a year – July and December.  (A $5.00 play day fee is collected on the first tee by the lowest handicapper of the foursome).


 *   POSTING - All scores must be posted on the computer in the Pro Shop for official play days, as well as any other time you play at the SBGC.  If you finish any 13 holes, you must post, taking net par for the holes not played.  Please complete the score card by entering your handicap; date it, sign it and have it attested. Weekly scorecards are collected by the Hosts and left in the front of the Women's Club drawer which is located by the bulletin board. When playing at another course, you should post an away game on their computer. If you are unable to do this, put the card in the bottom drawer to the attention of the “Handicap Chairperson” and it will be posted  for you. (Clearly mark card "Please post" or "not posted" etc.)


 *   CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - You must have played at least 5 Wednesday play day rounds during the preceding 12 months to be eligible to compete in the championship tournament.


 *   SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS - These are listed under the Play Days tab (Special Tournaments) of our web site (www.sbwgc.com) .  Some require a partner to play.  Shotgun starts are scheduled three (3) times annually (Grandmothers, Senior Championship and the Turkey Shoot Tournaments).   Check-in at least 10 minutes before starting time.


 *   RINGER ROUNDS - Over an 8-9 week period in January thru March during our Wednesday play days, a record is kept of the best score, hole by hole, from any 6 rounds of golf.   Anyone wishing to participate in the “cash pay out” event needs to pay the $5 entry fee to the Ringer Rounds Host.  Up to six (6) signed and attested scorecards can be submitted for the Ringers Tournament.  The Tournament is flighted – RED and RED/GREEN TEE players.





 *   LOW NET/LOW PUTTS - Prize money is awarded monthly from the Treasury.  The competition is flighted.  To compete, put your attested scorecard in the proper envelope tacked on the bulletin board and enter your name on the front of the sign up card with your net score or number of putts.  Scorecard must be dated, signed and attested.


 *   HOLE-IN-ONE – Requires a one time payment of $5.  Anyone getting a H-I-O Is recognized with your name on our trophy and payment of $50.


 *   W.P.L.G.A. of So. Cal. -  (Women's Pub Links Golf Association)  Pub Links tournaments take place at various courses throughout the area on the second Thursday of the month. The locations of the tournaments as well as entry blanks can be found in the book received from Pub-Links when you pay your dues. There are also yearly team play opportunities and exciting "Far-Away- From-Home" tournaments, offered by this Association.
